FAQS
-
Do Opening Rooflights Open Manually Or Electronically? Here at Rooflight Centre, we pride ourselves on providing our customers with options. This is why, along with manual opening rooflights, we also offer electronically-controlled opening rooflights. If you decide that automatic rooflights are the right choice for you, you can purchase an optional control panel with an integral thermostat and rain sensor. These additions will cause the opening rooflight to close when it detects moisture or unusually rising temperatures.
-
Are Opening Rooflights Easy To Clean?Yes! All you need to do is ensure that you can safely reach your opening rooflight before cleaning with mild detergent and warm water. No abrasive or harsh cleaners should be used on your opening rooflight, as they could cause the metal or the silicone seals to deteriorate. Once you have cleaned the glass, use a lint-free cloth to prevent streaks and make your rooflight look as good as new.
-
How Much Do Opening Rooflights Cost?Due to the number of customisation options available for opening rooflights, the price of your rooflight will vary depending on the size and the glass type that you would like your rooflight to have. Our standard opening rooflights have a starting price of £1,400. But the bigger you need your rooflight to be, the more expensive it will be. Despite this, we try to price our opening rooflights as low as possible to ensure you receive a high-quality product for the lowest costs possible.
-
Are Opening Rooflights Thermally Efficient? Thanks to the high-quality double-glazed glass used as standard in all our opening rooflights, and the durable sealant used to keep your rooflight in place, opening rooflights are incredibly thermally efficient. They prevent the heat from escaping your home and stop the ingress of cold air from outside.
-
Do Opening Rooflights Break Easily?Opening rooflights do not break easily. We use high-quality double-glazed glass for our opening rooflights and manufacture the frames from aluminium. Aluminium is a material renowned for its strength, high levels of durability, and corrosion resistance. The automatic closing mechanism (should you choose to install it) on your rooflight is also made from strong materials, which guarantees its protection.
